Do you know the warm fuzzy feeling you get when you're ashamed to be a human? Yes? Well, I had it yesterday.
I was on the train, with a few interesting young "men".
Well, besides the fact that they were disgusting anyway (the usual belching and spitting), they were a bit drunk and needed to show each other how good they're at picking up girls. Well, this lead to a presentation of the worst pickup lines I've heard in my life and - everything else would have seriously damaged the image I have of women - no success. Anyway, this group of young men wasn't happy with the usual rejection, so they had to actually follow these girls, telling them how wonderful they would be in bed.
And now the really, really, really depressing part of the story. These guys were actually responsible for a group of 9-year olds. The whole thing looked like the way back from some youth camp. Role models are an important part of education, eh?
Well, i was playing with the thought of giving an overview of the current New Maintainer Process status per mail, but I now have a blog and need to fill it with interesting stuff.
As you may know, tbm handled all FD stuff alone until the beginning of this year, when he appointed Brian Nelson and me to help him. We didn't do interesting stuff, but things happened :-)
With the help of some new Application Managers (and a really insane mass of applicants assigned to me) we got the number of people waiting for an AM down to 15 or so. That was the good part - but Martin Loschwitz resigned as AM a few weeks back (he didn't have enough free time for his NM tasks), so all his applicants needed to be reassigned. This is nearly done now, but the queue is as long as it was at the beginning of the year :|
I have no idea what I'll write, but I now have place to ramble on about the unimportant stuff in my life, the stuff you don't want to hear and I don't want to speak about. Well, at least I'm doing what all the cool kids do nowadays.
