Here is a little script that I crudely hacked together in perl but it requires some perl modules that are not in Debian, IIRC. It will printout some holidays (and some other personal dates) like chanukah.[0]
Here's to some latkes with sour cream and/or apple sauce! Prepared with freshly greated potato, onion and a little holiday blood, that 'extra' ingredient! Cheers, Kev [0] http://debian.home.pipeline.com/hebholiday.pl

Anyway, every year I ask a jewish friend "when is Hanukah"?..i will not do it anymore ;)

Kevin, hebcal is already in Debian and at www.hebcal.com, which already does that and more.
I didn't think the jokes were that funny either.
