This reaction of yours nicely illustrates one of the main reasons for my not wanting to be associated with Debian.

You're free to feel that way - but backing away from a project instead of trying to change it in a way you consider right will neither help you, the project or people in a situation similiar to yours.
It does help me. I am really enjoying the feeling of not having my work blocked by lazy people with power.
As for the project: it's the members' responsibility to fix it. I offered to become a member, presented the required evidence of my competence and motivation, jumped through the required hoops... and was not accepted. So the responsibility remains all yours. Oops, except that Debian doesn't have an institution of responsibility (constitution 2.1). Never mind. As for other people in my position, I help them by warning them not to get into NM unless they want to be treated like shit.

Sorry, but whatever your opinion of your acts is - I believe that backing out from something one wants to make better because it's not easy is not a good move - it's a very bad move, showing how worthless one's intentions are. If you want to change something, you have to work! If it's pinging, nagging, kicking, screaming - doing something is the important part.
And really, you've wasted most of the time you were in the NM process. I can't understand how you, after wasting an AMs time by being unresponsive, are able to feel good about insulting other people for taking more time than you'd like. But whatever, it's your decision to do what you want. As long as you're able to feel good about the stuff you have done and still do, it's fine by me. The author does not allow comments to this entry
